An exciting time for students and faculty at SPCS! We’ve been preparing and rehearsing for a commercial. The filming was done this past week and still photos and other information has been submitted. Students from K4 through the 2nd grade teamed up to play a game of soccer for the school. All grades attended to cheer on the players and Fr. Jim was the referee.
We had special visitors this week! A few St. Patrick Catholic alumni hosted a Q&A on "life as a freshman" at St. Michael Catholic High School for our graduating 8th grade class; Lane Raley, Julianna Fredriksen, Timothy Mullek, Paige Hatfield.
Ms. Yestrumsky’s 2nd grade class enjoyed a hot, Friday afternoon making Lucky Charms bar graphs during math. Students sorted and graphed their colorful marshmallows, and answered questions using their yummy data.
The Coastal Kids Quiz is an environmental quiz competition for teams of fifth graders in Baldwin and Mobile Counties. Congratulations to Mrs. Kelly Cote (Grd5) & the SPCS team winning 2nd place! You've worked so hard and we are proud of you!!
SPCS 3rd grade toured WKRG News 5’s studio and helped to sign-off the broadcast. The students also learned about equipment used to forecast and share the weather with viewers in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.
A beautiful day to have our 2018 Field Day games. The competition was good but the sportsmanship and teamwork were even better! Thank you to all those coming to support the students. Also, many thanks to the PTO volunteers, and all who helped with organizing the games, preparing snacks and drinks, keeping score, etc. It was a fun day for all!
Students in 5th through 8th grades competed in the Alabama Council for Technology in Education (ACTE) Regional computer fair hosted by Coastal Alabama Community College in Bay Minette. Celebrating Dr. Seuss Week at SPCS, K5 Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades enjoyed difference activities each day; a Green Eggs and Ham breakfast, digital artwork, reading books, crazy hair day and dressing up! The highlight of the week was on Friday; students and teachers dressed as their favorite book character and paraded through the gym for all to see. Such a fun week!
A Walk Through Holy Week: a project designed so that the 8th graders could deepen their knowledge of Christianity's holiest days. In turn they shared that understanding with the entire SPCS student body, teachers, and staff in an interactive, visual prayer service. (...)

SPCS eighth graders attended the beautiful Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Mobile, held annually on Holy Tuesday. Students experienced the blessing of the holy oils and the vow renewal of our archdiocesan priests - including our own Fr. Jim. Afterward, students enjoyed a picnic lunch in Cathedral Square and visiting with other Catholic school students.
SPCS students, teachers, principal & parents traveled to Montgomery, joining many other schools, to raise public awareness of all types of education options for children by participating in the National School Choice rally. Rallies and special events are held across our fifty states in support of the National School Choice Week held every January. We are proud to come together as a school family to celebrate our Catholic Education opportunity.
