At St. Patrick School, reading is an integral part of the curriculum. For the younger children, we ask that the parents take an active role by reading with their child. The library has a very important role to play in the education process. It’s three basic functions are:
Library skills are taught to the various classes according to the level of need and understanding. Students visit the library on a regular basis with individuals being allowed to use the library at other times at the discretion of the librarian. We participate in the Accelerated Reading Program; the classroom teacher will determine how the student will be rewarded or graded for points earned or quizzes passed.
➢ Students are responsible for returning books on time.
➢ A fee will be charged for past due books.
➢ Restitution for damaged or lost books must be taken care of by the parents.
